The METRIA PureFlow wastewater treatment plant is an ideal solution for households without access to a sewer system. Its simple design and proven technology ensure years of trouble-free operation.

This is a mechanical-biological wastewater treatment plant. Its four-chamber design produces approximately 97% purified wastewater. The use of activated sludge technology without controllers or solenoid valves allows for manual control of the unit’s operation and, in emergency situations, for a temporary increase in treatment capacity. The PureFlow product complies with the PN-EN 12566-3:2005+ A2:2013 standard. The METRIA PureFlow 6 domestic wastewater treatment plant is also CE certified. The tanks are manufactured from high-quality PEHD plastic using rotomoulding – a plastic forming technique where the rotomoulding mold is divided into two or more parts, filled with plastic powder or granulate, and then placed in an oven, where the powder transforms into a liquid state. The rotating mold creates a monolithic tank with uniform, thick walls. The vertical design of the treatment plant also saves significant space and facilitates proper oxygenation of the wastewater.

The treatment plant utilizes activated sludge technology. The biological reactor contains low-load activated sludge, which consists of aerobic bacteria concentrated in so-called sludge flocs. Thanks to intensive oxygenation, the bacteria have enough oxygen to effectively reduce pollutants contained in the wastewater.

PureFlow is a four-chamber treatment plant with two secondary settling tanks and a sludge return system, guaranteeing a high level of pollution reduction.

Description of the PureFlow treatment plant operation:

Phase I – raw sewage inflow:

The incoming wastewater is mechanically pre-treated, with sediment settling to the bottom and fats rising to the top. This also allows for uniform treatment of each batch. The wastewater then flows through the siphon into the biological reactor due to differences in liquid levels.

Phase II – aeration in the biological reactor:

Mechanically treated wastewater is intensively aerated in the reactor. Contact with oxygen allows for the growth of bacteria, which reduce contaminants contained in the wastewater. At the same time, thanks to the appropriate valve settings, a buffer is created in the reactor, meaning that up to a certain point, more wastewater flows out than is recycled from the Imhoff funnel, where it is then transferred in the next stage.

Phase III – Imhoff funnel deposition:

Through a process called sedimentation, excess sludge is collected in the lower part of the hopper. From there, it is returned to the biological reactor via an air pump (mammoth). Excess liquid flows to the secondary settling tank.

Phase IV – final clarification and discharge of treated wastewater:

Wastewater that flowed out of the Imhoff hopper in the previous phase is removed from the secondary settling tank, removing any remaining suspended solids and nitrogen compounds. It then leaves the treatment plant by gravity or pumping and flows into the receiving water.

Advantages of the PureFlow treatment plant:

– The treatment plants are manufactured in accordance with the PN-EN 12566-3:2005+A2:2013 standard and carry CE marking.

– The tank is made of PEHD (polyethylene) resistant to aggressive environments, while its heavily ribbed structure ensures resistance to ground forces.

– Small footprint – all treatment processes occur within the tank, allowing the treated wastewater to be discharged into a ditch, pond, river, or absorbed over a small area using a soakaway pit.

– Very long service life and reliability – simple design of the flow-through wastewater treatment technology.

– Uniform and stable wastewater treatment, resulting in higher pollutant removal efficiency.

– Low electricity consumption – the entire treatment plant consumes approximately 0.6 kWh/d.

– Low operating costs – sludge removal required only every 12–24 months.

– Stable operation regardless of the season.

– Fully automated operation.

– 30-year warranty on the tank. 2-year warranty on the equipment.
