The Kingspan BioTec system is based on sprinkler bed technology. It is one of the best biological domestic sewage treatment plants available on the market.

The tank is made of GRP, glass fiber reinforced polyester resin, which ensures high strength, resistance to aggressive environments, and non-absorbency.

This type of treatment plant is virtually maintenance-free, odorless, and, above all, quiet.

Biological beds provide a level of pollution removal unmatched by other treatment plants, at ~97.5%. This means that the treated wastewater can be safely used to water gardens or discharged into ditches or rivers (after obtaining the appropriate permit).

The treatment process at the Kingspan BioTec treatment plant is as follows:

– Primary sedimentation tank, where raw sewage first arrives. Here, fats are retained, solid particles are separated, and particles forming sediment settle. The pre-treated sewage then flows by gravity to the next zone.

– Second settling tank. From this section, the sewage is pumped by a mammoth pump to a suspended bed with a biological membrane composed of aerobic microorganisms, which extract organic substances from the sewage and oxygen from the atmosphere. The treated sewage is then transferred in a ratio of 1 to 3 to the primary, secondary, and tertiary settling tanks.

– The secondary sedimentation tank is responsible for final purification, collecting excess biological film at the bottom. The remaining purified liquid is now finally purified and ready for discharge.
