The METRIA Bio Duo-Hybrid sewage treatment plant is designed for the treatment of domestic and municipal wastewater and can operate in any soil and water conditions. It is an ideal solution as an alternative to a traditional septic tank for households without access to the sewage system.

This is a mechanical-biological sewage treatment plant. The technological process is based on hybrid wastewater treatment, ensuring a high level of pollutant reduction in accordance with the PN-EN 12566-3:2005+ A2:2013 standard. The METRIA Bio Duo-Hybrid 6 domestic sewage treatment plant also has a CE certificate. The tanks are made of high-quality HDPE using rotational molding – a plastic forming technique in which a mold is divided into two or more parts, filled with plastic powder or granules, then placed in an oven where the powder melts. The rotating mold produces a monolithic tank with uniform and thick walls.

The treatment plant uses two biologically independent zones. In each zone, low-load activated sludge – aerobic bacteria clustered into so-called flocs – forms a suspension actively involved in the wastewater treatment process. This process is supported by a fluidized biological bed made of specially designed PE elements on which microorganisms develop, participating in the aerobic treatment of wastewater.

Bio DUO-Hybrid is a four-chamber treatment plant with two independent aeration zones and a sludge return system, ensuring a high level of pollutant reduction. The combination of low-load activated sludge (bacteria clustered in flocs) and the submerged biological bed formed on specially designed PE elements guarantees stable operation. At the bottom of both bioreactors are membrane tube diffusers, into which air is supplied by a blower. The diffuser layout and the volume of supplied air ensure optimal mixing and oxygenation of the wastewater and the biological film, creating excellent process conditions in the reactors.
