The Bio Duo-Hybrid treatment plant is designed for the treatment of domestic and municipal wastewater and can handle any soil and water conditions. It is an ideal alternative to a traditional septic tank for households that cannot be connected to the sewage system.

This is a mechanical-biological wastewater treatment plant. The technology process is based on hybrid wastewater treatment, ensuring a high level of pollutant reduction in compliance with the PN-EN 12566-3:2005 + A2:2013 standard. The METRIA Bio DUO Hybrid 8 domestic wastewater treatment plant also carries CE marking. The tanks are manufactured from high-quality PEHD using the rotomolding method (a plastic forming technique where the mold, divided into two or more parts, is filled with plastic powder or granules, then placed in an oven where the powder melts and, thanks to the rotating mold, forms a monolithic tank).

The treatment plant features two biologically independent zones. In each zone, low-loaded activated sludge – aerobic bacteria clustered in so-called flocs – forms a suspension actively involved in the wastewater treatment process. This process is further supported by a fluidized biological bed made of specially designed PE elements, on which microorganisms develop and participate in aerobic wastewater purification.

The Bio DUO-Hybrid is a four-chamber treatment plant with two independent aeration zones and a sludge recirculation system, ensuring a high level of pollutant reduction. The combination of low-loaded activated sludge – bacteria clustered in so-called flocs – and a submerged biological bed formed on specially designed PE elements guarantees stable operation of the device. At the bottom of both bioreactors are membrane tube diffusers, through which air is supplied by a blower. The diffuser arrangement and the amount of air supplied ensure optimal mixing and oxygenation of both the wastewater and the biological film, creating excellent process conditions within the reactors.
