Heating oil tanks are double-walled tanks, which means that the tank is actually made up of two tanks of different capacities (a so-called “tank-in-tank” design). The inner tank is located inside the outer tank, which has a capacity corresponding to 110% of the smaller tank. This double-walled design provides double protection, which is particularly important in the event of a failure – in such a situation, the fuel oil will not reach the ground, thus avoiding harmful environmental pollution.
